Steelers Drop Another Game; Continue West Coast Losing Streak
well, that was pretty awful, no?
And here I thought we could kill the west coast losing streak, no such luck Steelers fans. No. Such. Luck.
Those of you who actually missed watching the game and are just looking at box scores might be wondering why we're all freaking out. Well, don't let the 21-18 score, nor the pretty equal time of possession, nor the fact that Ben threw 29 for 45 for 275, 1 TD and 2 INTs compared to Terrell Pryer's 10/19 for 88 yards and 2 INT's. It was ugly. Trust me. When the QB opens the first down with a 93 yard rush and breaks TWO of Bo Jackson's records sprinting into the end zone, you know it's just going to be a bad day.
And the first half didn't get much better.
Neither did the second half.
Even with a Troy Polamalu interception.
And even with a Cortez Allen interception.
The mistakes were many. No one is immune. Even Suisham missed two key field goals that could have tied or won the game. But we all know there's no coulda, woulda, shoulda in football. And you can't blame him when there were other mistakes made, we shouldn't even been in the position to settle for 3 without others mistakes happening first. Still, if you are a kicker, you have one job. Though I will reserve my anger for those missed opportunities, becausee Suisham kicked a game winner last week. It happens.
The good things, though not many, were a few key plays late in the game. Specifically Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders had a few key plays (also had a couple drops here and there) to keep the Steelers in the game, including a 2 point conversion by Sanders.
Up next week - the Pats. Based on how they have been playing I can absolutely see the Steelers winning. Hopefully they watch film and come prepared.
To me, that's what's missing - preparation. I just don't see the Steelers being as prepared as they should be week after week. Whether it's reading defenses or preparing for the offensive schemes coming at them, they just look surprised half the time. In fact, today you would have thought they had never seen a read-option offense before. They have and they've successfully defended it, yet today, it was not noticeable.
Do better Steelers.
I still love you, but do better.
According to @PatMuldowney Todd Haley's philosophy goes something like this:
what do you think Steeler Nation?
Agree or Disagree?
